Executive Secretary, Lateef Jakande Leadership Academy, Ayisat Agbaje-Okunade, has called on young women to embrace confidence, confront fear, and lead with intention as they pursue personal and professional growth.

She made the call during a leadership engagement tagged “Brunch & Beyond: A Leadership Chat With Ayisat,” which brought together 50 young women in Lagos in celebration of this year’s Women’s Month.

Agbaje-Okunade said the gathering was aimed at creating a safe and empowering space for women to feel heard, inspired and empowered to pursue their purpose with clarity and conviction.

She said fear remains one of the obstacles to growth for many women. She urged participants to overcome it, build confidence and embrace leadership opportunities.

“You lose nothing when you stand up to fear, confidence is key to owning your narrative and stepping into your full potential.”

She stressed the importance of building a supportive network among women, adding that collective empowerment leads to lasting change.

“True progress happens when women amplify each other’s voices. When we embrace our power, support one another, and move boldly in pursuit of our dreams, we create a ripple effect that transcends generations,” she said.

Agbaje-Okunade also highlighted the importance of purposeful leadership and mentorship, noting that women must recognise the influence they wield and the pathways they create for others through their growth.

The session featured an interactive fireside chat where participants engaged in open discussions on leadership challenges, career development, and personal transformation.
