Court freezes firms, director’s account over debt

Last Friday, the court rejected the application brought by counsel to the defendants, Dipo Okpeseyi to vacate the order and adjourned to September 28.

The court had in an interim order attached the debt due to the firms and Osula-Nku to the frozen properties in favour of the Asset Management Company of Nigeria (AMCON).

The judge ordered: “That an interim order is hereby granted attaching the debt due or accruing from Ziglagsis Networks Limited, Sharon Properties Limited and Mrs Rosemary Osula-Nku and freezing all accounts anywhere and in any financial institution in the name or belonging to the defendants.

“And that all financial institutions served same on the claimants legal practitioner and in the event that money is found in any account standing in the credit of the defendants to transfer such sum to the nominated account of the claimant/applicant forthwith.

“That an order is hereby granted permitting the claimant to appoint a receiver/manager over the businesses, trading activities and over all the fixed and floating assets of the defendants.

“That an order is hereby granted to the claimant for possession of all that properties, moveable and immoveable comprising buildings, fixtures, fittings, vehicles and any other chattels howsoever described belonging to the defendants.”

According to the order delivered on May 21, the frozen properties include a parcel of land with buildings at plot 115 Cadastral zone A4, Abuja; plot 2916 Cadastral zone A6, Abuja; all property at 70 Adeniran Ogunsanya Street, Surulere, Lagos and any other property belonging to the defendants that might be found within the jurisdiction of the federal high court.
