D’CEM Awards unveils new Governing Council Exco Members

The D’CEM Awards Organisation has announced the official unveiling of its new Governing Council Executive Members, which it described as a distinguished panel of legendary figures and visionary leaders across entertainment and humanitarian sectors committed to driving its mission and global influence forward.It noted that with the unveiling, it is poised for its next phase of expansion and global impact – celebrating global excellence, promoting unity, bridging cultural gaps, and inspiring future generations through film and arts entertainment, leadership excellence, fashion, and humanitarian recognition.

According to the organisation, as the D’CEM Awards rises in prominence as one of the most prestigious Africa’s, America’s, and Latino’s film and art-to-the-world entertainment awards platforms in the United States, the unveiling of the D’CEM Awards Governing Council marks a transformative chapter. “Our dynamic council embodies leadership, integrity, and excellence, with members selected for their impact, cultural relevance, and dedication to the creative arts and social change,” it said.

The 2025 D’CEM Awards Governing Council Executive Members include Clarion Chukwurah, legendary Nigerian actress and global humanitarian advocate, known for her legacy in African cinema and international outreach, as President; and Mr. RAW, renowned pioneer of Igbo rap and a celebrated cultural icon in the African music industry, as Vice President.

Others are Funsho Adeolu, veteran Nollywood actor recognised for his versatility, mentorship, and leadership in African film (Executive Member); Chuks Omalicha, Nollywood star acclaimed for his contributions to new-generation African storytelling (Executive Member); Dr. Queen Aftan, American media personality and entrepreneurial trailblazer shaping voices in modern broadcasting (Executive Member); and Marta Evans, award-winning Latino-American actress and producer championing multicultural media and inclusivity (Executive Member).

The organisation said the Governing Council would serve as its core advisory and decision-making body, overseeing critical areas such as honouree selection integrity, international partnerships, strategic growth, and ensuring that the D’CEM Awards remains a beacon of cultural celebration and cross-continental excellence. “D’CEM Governing Council represents the excellence, diversity, and visionary leadership we stand for. Their presence not only strengthens our structure but also reinforces our commitment to honouring legends, empowering creatives, and bridging cultures through the power of storytelling,” said the Founder of the D’CEM Awards Organisation, Dr. Debby Goodnews Silas.
