‘Digital is changing the face of advertising’
There is no doubt that digital solution is drastically changing the face of advertising in Nigeria, Tayo Osikoya, an advertising practitioner, has said.

According to him, it has transformed the old outdoor advertising landscape in Nigeria, bringing a bit of dynamism into the way advertisers communicate their brands to the public, adding that it has also helped the outdoor industry to generate more revenue. “In the past, you had cases where you have just one advertising stand stationed in one place with a view, but now it has changed giving advertisers multiple choice.”
He spoke at the introduction of the latest version of an electronic digital advertising board, a 75-inch free standing double-sided LED screen, which also has surveillance cameras attached to the top of both sides of the screen.
Osikoya said social media has been a major competitor with other traditional advertising media because it displays the numbers of views, clicks, likes and shares which make it possible for the clients to measure the reach of their adverts that run there.
According to him, one of the unique features of the device is that it has the capacity to measure the amount of audience that views the adverts displayed on the screen with the surveillance cameras attached on the board.
He said the software technology introduced into the board allows the device to profile the viewers of the adverts displayed on the screen.
