Ebhomenye celebrated at 75

FAMILY, friends and well-wishers, at the weekend, converged on Victoria Island, Lagos, to celebrate the life, times and successes of renowned market research consultant, Dr. Joe Ebhomenye.

Held at a spacious hall in Oriental Hotel, Lekki, the occasion was a time for merriment, laughter and glowing tributes to the man of the hour, Ebhomenye.

The celebrant stepped into the hall to a standing ovation, in a room populated by branding experts, doctors, engineers and a crème of high society, as snippets of his life and times in Nigeria and overseas with friends and associates, beamed from a projected screen.

After the opening prayer, which was led by Pastor Magnus Maduka, guests were treated to bouts of laughter occasioned by the performance of the compere, Oghenekaro Desmond.

The Chairman of the occasion, Chief Lekan Adams lauded the personality of Ebhomenye, tracing the humble beginnings of the researcher from his root in Ewoyimin, Esan South, Edo State, to his exploits in market research in Nigeria, in particular, and Africa, at large. He stressed that the occasion was a celebration of life, not just the celebrant.

He said: “The celebrant’s company, Market Trends International, is based in Nigeria but services the entire continent. He deals with Geneva, the United States (US) and United Kingdom (UK). Today is one of the days we will dance out of the admiration of a fulfilling life. Let it be that the celebrant will see this as a day he will never forget; and when we gather here in the next 25 years, we will remember this day.”

The celebrant’s associate, Market Research consultant, Patrick Anidi, praised Ebhomenye as a “total man, who is full of insights, not just as a researcher but also as a consutant.
