The Council of the Peaceland University, Enugu has appointed Rev. Fr. Prof. Felix Ugwuozor, as Pro- Chancellor of the institution.

His appointment which took immediate effect was communicated in a letter signed by the Registrar of the University, Dr. Patrick Ugwu.

Ugwuozor, a priest of the Catholic Diocese of Enugu, brings a wealth of academic and leadership experience to his new role, driving the institution towards greater heights.

He holds Master’s and PhD degrees in Philosophy of Education and Pedagogy from Montclair State University, New Jersey, USA.

He served as a faculty member at Montclair State University for ten years and has been an adjunct professor at Jesuit University, Seton Hall University, and Farleigh Dickinson University. He is also a product of the University of Nigeria Nsukka (UNN).

Spokesperson of the school, Ihemegbunem Okafor, in a statement, stated that prior to his appointment, the new Pro-Chancellor was the Ag. Deputy Provost and Director of Postgraduate Programmes at Peaceland College of Education Enugu.

“He is also a full faculty member at the University of Nigeria Nsukka (UNN), where he teaches Philosophy of Education, Logic and Teaching, on temporary Philosophies of Education, and Philosophy of Mind,” Okafor said.

“Prof. Ugwuozor has held significant positions such as the Dean of Social Sciences and substantive Registrar of the Institute of Ecumenical Education (now Go University).

“His broad research interests include philosophy, education, ethics, psychology, humanities, social, political, and environmental issues and has over two decades of academic leadership experience serving institutions of higher education across the US, Europe, and Africa.”

He added that Ugwuozor is a member of the editorial boards of two journals: Science Publishing Group in New York and Nnadiebube Journal of Nnamdi Azikiwe University.

He is also the founder of One Hope Children, a US-based nonprofit foundation dedicated to delivering a better world for individuals and communities on the margins of society.
