Peter Obi donates ₦30m to Paul University, Awka

The Labour Party (LP) standard bearer during the 2023 presidential election, Peter Obi, over the weekend donated the sum of ₦30 million to Paul University, Awka, Anambra State.
Obi, announcing the donation on his official X account on Monday, said it was guided by his unwavering belief in education as a critical contributor to national development and its transformative power.
“I had the pleasure of visiting Paul University, Awka, where I presented a cheque of ₦30 million to support the institution’s continued growth and development,” he said.
“This marks my third visit to the University, having previously donated ₦10 million during each of my earlier visits, which brings my total support to the university to ₦50 million. I also assured the institution of my continued support in the future, especially in the new School of Nursing Sciences.”
Obi said during his visit, the proprietor and his dedicated team kindly took him on a tour of the ongoing projects at the university.
The former governor of Anambra State said he was deeply inspired by the remarkable progress being achieved, particularly with the introduction of their new Nursing Programme.
He said their steadfast dedication to advancing education and equipping students with productive skills and opportunities is truly commendable.
Obi added that supporting education remains a priority for him, and he will remain steadfast in his commitment to initiatives that empower the Nigerian youth and strengthen the foundation of society.
“By investing in education, we unlock the immense potential of our people to become productive members of society and, thus, pave the way for sustainable and inclusive progress,” the LP chieftain said.
