Environment ministry marks Hand-washing Day
As part of efforts to create awareness on the importance of hand washing, the Federal Ministry of Environment (FMoE) Lagos office is set to mark the Global Hand Washing Day (GHWD) on October 15, 2015 at the ministry’s conference hall.
In line with the United Nations General Assembly’s dedication on global advocacy, the programme which will commence at 10:00am, will focus on sensitizing school children and nursing mothers.
Deputy Director and Federal Controller of Environment (FMoE), O.O Agbenla, in a statement, said: “This year’s theme, ‘Raising A Hand for Hygiene’ is an action word for both self and governmental assessment of our commitment to the hand washing”.
According to her, the event, which promises 300 participants, is geared towards creating global effectual awareness about hand washing with soap and to inspire increase investment in this life saving behaviour.
