As part of efforts to enhance access to quality educational books, Evans Brothers, a Nigerian publishing outfit has developed Evans e-book.

This e-book, which can be accessed on smartphones, according to managing director of the outfit, Alhaji Lukman Dauda, is to encourage and help students have access to textbooks and other relevant reading materials.

Lukman who explained the uniqueness and features of the e-book, stressed that “while the known ones give you access to the fiction and non-fiction titles, Evans e-books provide students with core classroom titles in all subjects contained in the educational curriculum at all levels of education, in addition to fiction and non-fiction titles.”

Lukman stressed the fact that portability, accessibility and affordability were added benefits as readers, especially students in particular, would have the opportunity of choosing from flexible time plans ranging from one month to one year depending on their choices.

Nigeria’s first female computer scientist from the University of Ibadan (UI), Professor Adenike Osofisan, commended the outfit for creating an enabling environment for students and scholars, which she described as easy access to core educational books.

According to her, “The importance of information communication in every aspect of our daily lives,
gives credence to the Evans e-book innovation and further makes a case for the inclusion of uniquely Nigerian contents in our learning process.”
