Eterna, Castrol push for growth, unveil plans for lubricant market

Eterna Industries Limited, the authorised distributor of Castrol products in Nigeria, has engaged lubricant distributors nationwide in an intensive dialogue aimed at accelerating business growth and tackling the challenge of product adulteration.

At the 2025 national distributor conference held in Lagos with the theme: ‘Accelerating Growth Together,’ the Managing Director of Eterna Industries Limited, Bunmi Agagu-Adu, highlighted the company’s long-standing partnership with Castrol and its impact on Nigeria’s economy.

Agagu-Adu said: “The long-term partnership with Castrol started around 1991. For the automotive business, we began in 2017 when we started blending Castrol GTX in Nigeria.

“The collaboration has been ongoing for over 30 years, and it gets better. Castrol GTX 20w-50 is very adaptable to most cars in Nigeria.”

She stressed the need to curb the circulation of fake lubricants, urging distributors and motorists to buy Castrol products only from Eterna Plc’s 83 retail stations nationwide or from approved sub-distributors to guarantee authenticity.

According to her, buying from the right source was key to ensuring vehicle productivity and longevity.
The Castrol team assured that more high-quality products would be introduced to the Nigerian market, backed by advanced technology to protect engines.

“We are introducing more products to serve our customers. We are making sure that more of our products are blended in the Nigerian market. This will also boost the Nigerian economy,” the company said.

In a move to strengthen its legacy of innovation, Castrol announced plans to introduce CASTROL ON — its advanced line of e-fluids for electric vehicles — to the Nigerian market.
