Transport group goes digital, creates jobs for youths

Speaking in Lagos during the initiatives launching, the Executive Director of Chisco Transport Ltd, Mr. Obinna Anyaegbu said the digitization would create more employment opportunities for several youths because services of agents would be needed nationwide.According to him, agents would be entitled to a five per cent discount on every online booking for travellers who are not tech savvy or cannot use the technology for a reason or the other.

Answering to the number of agents needed, he said: “There is no bench mark to the number of agents we want, no limit.He noted, the Chisco Digital direction is designed to create more jobs, drive financial independence and support the spirit of entrepreneurship through its ticketing agency model and business integrations.

In his address, Anyaegbu pointed out that the digital platform won’t only bring about employment opportunities but also to reward its loyal customers who book online.He advanced that the introduction of the loyalty campaign tagged Chisco Rides and Rewards Quarterly Promo is a way to appreciate customers quarterly as the star prize is a 2016 MG3 series.

The Chisco ED explained, our strategic focus is to develop and drive an integrated transportation system that is digitally holistic in design and functionality to promote contactless ticketing, improve operational efficiency and create better experiences for our customers.

The online booking portal he said was powered by Agabah and it affords instant ticket booking via email, and SMS with various payment moods, as well as up to 15 per cent discount for exclusive online bookings.

Anyaegbu disclosed that with Chiscos 35 years of experience in transport operations, the last two decades have witnessed a shift in customers perception and expectations on how they should be served in the road transport sector, hence the move towards that initiative.He urged road traveller to use the technology to plan their trips for convenience.
