To mark Nigeria’s 60th independence anniversary, Xtralarge Farms is giving out plots of land to agriculture enthusiasts.

In a statement made available to The Guardian yesterday, the firm also promised to train farmers at no cost, help them in cultivation and arrange for off-take of their harvests for three years.

The firm set up by Mr. and Mrs. Seyi Davids, whose vision is to raise a generation of passionate farmers, also unveiled its plans to use farming to improve the country’s economy.

In furtherance of this, it has raised 6,000 passionate agricultural entrepreneurs in modern, high-tech practices. The beneficiaries are equally eligible for free training and consultancy services, The Guardian gathered.

Recognising that Nigeria has come full-cycle, from the agriculture boom era of the 1950s and 1960s through the oil boom era of the ‘70s and ‘80s and back to agriculture, Xtra large Farms stressed its commitment to the Federal Government’s agriculture revolution.

The company, which began in 2016, is gearing up to launch the first Agri-tech City in Africa and a digital currency known as Xtratoken.

It also has several investment packages available such as the organic food network; the Agric Estate, Recession Plan, Super Farmer Fish Project, and the VIP plantain, cassava and groundnut packages.
