DU & T Consulting has concluded arrangement to tackle challenges of transportation in Nigeria with its upcoming logistics, transport and port management conference.

THE Managing Director, John Aderibigbe who disclosed this in Lagos recently, said the conference, which has been scheduled to hold from 25 -26 February would focus on improving transportation, logistics and port service delivery and effectiveness in West Africa .

Aderibigbe stated that the peculiar challenges of transportation across the country, which relate to regulatory agencies and poor maintenance must urgently be addressed to bolster the nation’s economy.

He said: “Road, Airport and sea are faced with challenges, which have limited the abilities of the stakeholders in achieving the potentials of their processes, systems and profitability by falling victims of delay, traffic gridlock, inventory and defects.

“Cargo movement from the ports of entry to the point of destination also face the trio challenges of regulations, regulators and poor maintenance of utilities. These challenges have limited the abilities of the stakeholders.”

According to him, the event which is expected to hold at the Lagos Chambers of Commerce and Industry will have in attendance top executives from major seaports and airports in the country as well as regulatory bodies.

He stated that the event would present a pathway to logistics effectiveness, traffic regulations, cost and time management strategies, warehouse and inventory challenges among other issues.
