Ashraaf foundation celebrates Sallah with internally displaced persons

The Durumi Camp of Internally Displaced Persons in Abuja was agog with joy as a group of Muslims organised a Sallah celebration for residents. This will remain indelible in the minds of the displaced person. The children were overwhelmed with excitement as a Bouncing Castle was mounted for them to catch fun.

The Leader of the team, Imam Shuaib Babamale, said ASHRAAF Islamic Foundation decided to organise sallah Festival for the IDPs and the PWD Colony in Karamajiji to make the less privileged have a sense of belonging.

Babamale said the foundation’s Founder , Imam Sharafudeen Aliagan, who was absent due to his pilgrimage to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia for hajj, urged members of the group to make the less privileged happy during the Sallah.

Earlier, before moving to the IDP Camp, the group had visited the Disabled Colony (Ungwar Guragwu) in Karamajiji area of Abuja to slaughter ram and share food items and money for them. The Chief of crippled persons in Abuja, Alhaji Muhammad Suleiman Katsina, prayed for the organisation for the good gesture.

While receiving the team in Durumi, the Women Leader of the IDP Camp, Hajia Liyatu Ayuba, implored well-meaning Nigerians to emulate what the ASHRAAF Islamic Foundation is doing for the less privileged in the society. She said crimes and criminalities will reduce if the needy in the society are well treated.

The District Head of Figba Sanma, Chief Emmanuel Gade, thanked the organisers for the laudable program to make less privileges happy, he urged Nigerians to emulate the foundation. In his words, ASHRAAF Islamic Foundation has challenged us to let us all join hands together to help the needy in our society. The highlight of the programme was a Quranic recitation competition between children in the IDP Camp.
