FOMWAN appoints Ajagbe Lagos Amirah, new exco

The Federation of Muslim Women’s Association of Nigeria (FOMWAN), Lagos State has appointed new executives to pilot the association’s affairs for the next four years.
Alhaja Sherifat Oluwatoyin Ajagbe was appointed to head Lagos State chapter after Dr. Halimah Egberonge completed her tenure.
She is a certified counselor, an administrator and a former General Secretary, FOMWAN Lagos state. Ajagbe is a retired teacher, she was employed by TESCOM Lagos State in 1986, started her career as a classroom teacher and rose to the post of a director and retired statutorily from Lagos State Public service as a principal in June 2021.
Ajagbe is a member of Muslim Association of Nigeria, Patroness Youth Wing, Nawair-ud deen Society, Lagos chapter.
Other members of the executives are: Alhaja Olanipekun Amudat (Naibah Amirah), Dr Iyanda Fadilat (General Secretary), Alhaja Opatola Rihanat (Assistant Secretary 1), Alhaja Abolade ldiat (Assistant Secretary 2), Alhaja Bilqees Adekoya (Public Relations Officer), Dr Mrs Ajagun Ogunkeye (Assistant PRO), Alhaja Dodo Modinat (Treasurer), Alhaja Ganiyat Ayomaya-Oyeniyi (Financial Secretary), Alhaja Yusuf Rihanat (Auditor) and Alhaja Omitaomu Ashiat (Assistant Auditor).
Also included are: Alhaja Olaniyan (Daawah Coordinator), Alhaja Mordiyyah Sodeeq (Asst. Dawah Coordinator), Barr. Mutiat Orolu – Balogun (Legal officer), Barr. F. F Salu- Smith (Asst. Legal officer), Dr. Halima Egberongbe (Ex Officio 1), Alhaja F F . Balogun (Ex Officio 2) and Alhaja R. Kamardeen (Ex-Officio 3).
While appreciating members on the roles played to move the association forward, Ajagbe said: “On behalf of the newly elected state executives, I want to sincerely appreciate our beloved mothers and elders for the role they have been playing to move our noble association to greater heights both at state and national levels.”
She commended the outgoing Amirah on her perseverance and steadfastness to ensure smooth running of the association affairs.
“I sincerely appreciate the efforts of the outgoing Amirah and her team for the superlative role played to project the image of FOMWAN Lagos at the National level and beyond. I also want to thank the entire FOMWAN family for the confidence reposed in me and the newly elected Executive members to run the affairs of the Association for the next four years,” She said. She accepted the position with faith and promise to uphold the association’s legacy
