GAC Motors unveils three saloon, SUV models
CIG Motors Company Limited, the distributor of GAC brand of motors has increased its range of vehicles with the unveiling of three models of Saloon, Sport Utility Vehicles (SUVs).
The GAC second generation vehicles which are available to residents of the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja, and Lagos include: GA3S model a 1.6 Litre engine four-door Saloon and the GS4 a 1.5L turbo engine compact SUV with 5 passengers seating.
Also available is the GS8 flagship luxury seven-seater vehicle a 2.0L turbo engine large SUV with many innovative features, safety guarantees and so much pleasure.
Managing Director of CID Motors, Felix Lee, said the key motivation behind the introduction of the new vehicle models is the cost, which is 40 per cent lower compared with Toyota, Hyundai, and Mitsubishi.
He also said the company prides the new entrants on their three way steering pole mechanism as an added value to the safety features, which he said disintegrates during crash to avoid death.
Speaking after a free test drive, Head, Marketing, CIG in Nigeria, Kayode Adejumo, said: “with the fuel efficient and economical turbo engines, the accent and decent on the hills was no match for the vehicles, as it easily showed its class. It boasts off its Hill Hold Controls with the vehicle ‘fully stable during Uphill and downhill starting and stopping not to talk of it great handling and comfort’ remarked one of the customers.”
He also added that with a deposit as low as N650,000, one can purchase the vehicles through Access Bank easy buy promo, with benefits like four years warranty and a comprehensive insurance package as part of the deal.
In this festive season, Adejumo said many discounts and free gifts also await potential customers with the test drive, as participants, who made a deposit for purchase will also enjoy up to five per cent spot discount along with the free gifts like rechargeable standing fans, and Air conditioners. This promo is open until December 22.
In line with the new auto policy of Federal Government, the company said it had set up an assembling plant in Lagos, where it hopes to produce 1,000 vehicles in a year and train Nigeria youths on vehicle repairs and assembling skills.
‘‘Right now, we have not reached that capacity but we hope to expand more. The potential of the market in Nigeria is very large. We are in Nigeria to compete. We consider Nigeria as a developing country and a lot of investors look up to Nigeria. The potential is very huge with the introduction of the new auto policy,’’ he added.
On CSR, Adejumo said the company this year supported the Nigerian Music industry by donating one of its series, GS4 to one of the reigning musicians to encourage the industry for its contribution to the economy.
This is in addition to providing support to the Africa Music Viewers Choice Award in collaboration with Multi-Choice.
In sports, he said the company will also be supporting the Lagos City Marathon, and later Abuja City Marathon to encourage sports in Nigeria. According to him, two GA cars and N100 illion as well as a bronze label would be used to sponsor the events.
The three GAC vehicles boast of more passengers seating with a lot of head and legroom compared to competitors in its class.
Also, the GS8 with 2.0L turbo engine large SUV is a flagship luxury seven-seater vehicle with many innovative features like the world record holding AFLS (Advanced front Lighting system) LED technology, which illuminates from a distance at 600m x 56m width further than any vehicle across the world.
Some of the customers who participated in the Test drive event were thrilled beyond expectations on the value offering of the GAC vehicles.
