We’ll continue to partner faith-based organisations on interventions — Sanwo-Olu

Lagos State governor, Mr. Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has said his administration will continue to partner with faith-based organisations like the Ansar-Ud-Deen Society of Nigeria and Overseas for interventions in education, health and other social services for the benefit of Lagos residents.

He spoke during a courtesy visit by the leadership of Ansar-Ud-Deen Society of Nigeria and overseas, led by its President, Prince Adeniji Kazeem (SAN), at the Lagos House, Marina.

Sanwo-Olu, while congratulating Prince Kazeem, the former Lagos State Commissioner for Justice and Attorney-General, on his emergence as the society’s president, expressed confidence in his leadership as a capable and competent administration.

He assured him and the entire leadership and membership of the Ansar-Ud-Deen Society of Nigeria and Overseas that the Lagos State government will provide necessary support to make the current tenure remarkable and successful.

Speaking earlier, Kazeem reaffirmed the society’s commitment to supporting the state government in advancing education, healthcare and social welfare.

He described the engagement with Sanwo-Olu as an opportunity to strengthen collaboration between the Lagos state government and faith-based organisations in promoting inclusive development and moral rejuvenation.

“For over a century, Ansar-ud-Deen has remained steadfast in promoting quality education, moral discipline and community service in line with Islamic values. Our Society stands as a dependable partner to the Lagos State Government in achieving a Greater Lagos that is inclusive, prosperous and peaceful,” he said.

He commended Sanwo-Olu for his exemplary leadership and development strides in infrastructure, education and social welfare. “We are proud of your achievements, and we assure you of our continued prayers and partnership in building a greater and more prosperous Lagos,” he said.

The president also called for stronger partnerships between government and faith-based organisations to enhance social impact through joint education, health and welfare programmes; promotion of interfaith collaboration to sustain peace and unity; and capacity building for religious leaders in governance, transparency and project management.
