IN a bid to render support, healthcare and companionship to the elderly and vulnerable in our society, Care Companions Limited has been set up to provide such qualitative and supervised care for this class of people.

In line with its services is the health-screening clinic, Quality Medicare International Limited that provides the chance for early detection of a wide range of disease including diabetes, hypertension, breast and cervical cancers among others as well as proffers advice to a healthy lifestyle.

According to the Chief Executive Officer, Mrs. Elizabeth Akin-Abiola of Care Companions Ltd., “we have all observed the apathy of the government’s social infrastructure for the provision of care and treatment for the aged; we have been driven by our passion to serve this class of people in our society. In the United Kingdom, it is easy to immediately identify facilities provided to take care of such people.”

She however, noted that the outfit currently deals with caring for the aged in their homes while they look forward to setting up a day centre where elderly can all meet, interact as like minds which aids longevity and wellness.

“We are also worried about the teeming population of unemployed youths and these people can readily be absorbed into these vital services as care givers. Some families who lack resources move their elderly into their homes forcing them into their lifestyle resulting to acrimony and unhappiness while families with resources have had to employ such services for the care of their elderly but have ended up with terrible stories of abuse and ugly handling.
