The Oyo State House of Assembly has passed the 2026 Oyo State Supplementary Finance Bill, approving an additional N210 billion to finance the state’s supplementary appropriation for the fiscal year.
The passage followed the consideration and adoption of the report of the House Committee on Finance, Appropriation and State Economic Planning during plenary on Thursday.
Presenting the report, the Chairman of the committee, Hon. Sunkanmi Babalola, said the committee considered the Bill clause by clause, taking into account inputs from the Ministry of Budget and Economic Planning as well as projections contained in the Oyo State Government’s Medium Term Expenditure Framework (MTEF), as adopted by the House.
With the passage of the supplementary finance bill, the total budgetary provision under the 2026 Finance Law rose from N892,085,074,480.79 to N1,102,085,074,480.79.
The supplementary appropriation is expected to provide additional funding for the implementation of government programmes and projects during the 2026 fiscal year.
