“WE are going to expect greater evangelistic approach to preaching the gospel and spreading the Lord’s message to the entire world. In fact, as it is now, we have, by His grace, touched almost all the continents of the earth. And I want to assure you that as we enter another decade, we are going to invade the world with needed revival. God will do it for us.”

When the General Overseer of the Lord’s Chosen Charismatic Revival Ministries, Pastor Lazarus Muoka, made the above statement in one of his interviews with The Guardian, not long ago, many thought it was a mission impossible. Today, however, God has honoured that word. At the just concluded Mgbidi 2016 crusade, the number of countries that graced the event was such an intimidating influx of attendees, comprising European men and women, as well as Africans from all walks of life. Mgbidi in Oru West Local Government Area of Imo State, which used to be a sleepy town, came alive once again.

For the three days that the programme lasted at the Lord’s Chosen International Secondary School, venue of the crusade, the faithful sat in the scorching sun, listening to the message preached by the man of God and life-changing testimonies shared by members and new comers. There were quite a lot of testimonies, but of note was the one shared by a young woman, Mrs. Osamudiame Omoregbe, 36, who came from Benin, Edo State. She had been a prostitute for years, but when she heard God’s word, she gave her life to Christ and at the crusade, she shared God’s goodness and how God blessed her with a husband. This, to her, is the reward of obeying Him.

Also at the event, Mr. Ethelbert Agworamba and his wife, Deborah gave an interesting testimony. They had lived together without a child for 15 years, and according to them, the trauma was so much that the woman was asked to sleep with another man in order to produce a child for her husband. But she refused. It was at the crusade that they came with a miracle child named Nmachukwu and their testimony moved the crowd to tears.

Narrating how she became a prostitute, Mrs. Omoregbe, who would soon be a mother, said her schoolmate introduced her into the business. Said she: “It was all due to lack of care, food and money. Even while I was in the secondary school, my father refused to pay our school fees. Instead, he told us to go and get married. That was why I went into prostitution. In the process, I started smoking, drinking, going to nightclubs and committing abortion.

“I have never been to a church before in my life. But somehow, a friend took me to the Lord’s Chosen Church in 2012, where we attended the new comers class. That particular Wednesday, when I heard our General Overseer, Pastor Lazarus Muoka preached, I gave my life to Christ. Little did I know that the Lord is so good.

“I am so happy today because most of my friends that were in the same profession with me then are dead, while the others have different stories to tell. I discovered this when I went to the hotel in Benin to preach repentance to them. My family was mocking me, but I thank God that they are now in Chosen and one of them attended this programme. God of Chosen delivered me and thereafter gave me a husband in 2014.”

Mrs. Deborah Agworamba and her husband are traders and live in Ekiti State. They hail from Ihiala local government in Anambra State. They came to Mgbidi 2016 crusade from Ekiti State.

Mrs. Agworamba, who got married in 2000, explained her ordeal to The Guardian: “I went through hell during those years of childlessness. At a point, I was asked to state how much they would pay me just to abandon my faith and also bring my husband out of Chosen. They said he was rich before he became a member of Chosen. They also said all manner of things about my pastor. But I was just calm, believing that one day, the God of Chosen would answer my prayer. I never thought of leaving my husband for once. But when I attended my mother-in-law’s burial, I got the worst embarrassment of my life. I was called out of the house at 11pm and they told me the story of my life and why I should leave Chosen. They said if we leave the church, they would make us rich again, and that I would also have a baby. ”

Mr. Etelberth, while corroborating his wife’s story, said: “I know that everything belongs to God. He is the One that gives children and the One that gives money. Nothing is impossible for Him to do and I believe I cannot do anything by struggling. We visited some doctors at Onitsha and also went to the Onitsha General Hospital, where the doctor told us that the only solution was to put another man’s semen into my wife. My wife and I were disturbed. So, we left Anambra State for Ekiti. In fact, we started going to different hospitals, and we even visited traditional hospitals, but nothing happened. At a point, we forgot everything about childbearing until we attended a crusade with the theme, “The Enemies Submitted” held in Lagos. But before then, I had a dream, where I saw my wife jubilating in a crusade. When she returned, I narrated everything to her. Aside that, we also have people in Chosen that were always praying for us. For instance, one of my elder brothers is a Chosen in Lagos, and the brethren in the church were all praying for us. They even told us to go and buy baby things. So, after everything, you know this is the manifestation of God’s power and His faithfulness. I am advising others in my condition to wait upon the Lord. He is the Owner of everything.”
