graduateSEQUEL to the bilateral linkage relationship between Gregory University Uturu (GUU), Abia State and some notable Ivy League institutions in the United States of America, a-15 member delegation from GUU is currently participating in a-two month summer exchange programme in Langston University (LU), Oklahoma USA.

GUU delegation, comprising 13 students and two officials led by its Director of Enterprise Ventures, Prof. Vincent Imo, joined scholars from other countries to participate in capacity building lectures, seminars and training workshops being conducted by renowned academics.

In addition, it will afford the students the privilege of expanding their educational frontiers through learning in a new environment, while the officials would conduct research into goat breeding and other associated forms of agric-business.

According to Imo, the choice of Langston University for the exchange programme was informed by “the institution’s comprehensive academic curriculum, exhaustive faculty and long standing history as the foremost goat breeding institute in the world.”

He added that the collaboration between the two universities was designed to be a mutually beneficial relationship that would impact positively on the two institutions through knowledge sharing.

According to a statement sent to The Guardian, the Langston University, Vice President in charge of Academic Affairs, Dr. Clyde Montgomery, while welcoming the GUU delegation, expressed delight that GUU’s management initiated the linkage relationship saying “LU remains the westernmost historically black college in the United States with a rich history of excellent manpower production since 1897.”

He enjoined the delegation to make the best use of the infrastructural, educational and recreational facilities the ancient University offers, promising them the support of both staff and faculty of LU.

GUU Chancellor, Dr. Gregory Ibe and Vice Chancellor, Prof Juliet Elu initiated the linkage relationship with the university on behalf of GUU as a way of stimulating effective networking between the two institutions.
