Lawmaker tasks government on training of farmers

A five-day training organised by Agricultural and Rural Management Training Institute (ARMTI), Ilorin, Kwara State in conjunction with Impact Link Global Consult Ltd, Ibadan for farmers in poultry and cassava farming business, House of Representatives member, representing Ibarapa/Ido Federal Constituency, Sunday Adepoju asserted that training is a way of widening the mindset of farmers.

Represented by former secretary, Ido Local Council, Oyo State, Jacob Akintola, he said training affords an opportunity to encourage graduates to embrace farming as a way of reducing unemployment and poverty in the country. “Training is paramount and is a way of empowering our teeming farmers, which in turn increases their farm yield.”

Also speaking, Principal Consultant, Impact Link Global Consult Ltd, Atolagbe Temidayo stated that there is no substitute to knowledge; hence the importance of training to any human capital development. He tasked the participants to take advantage of the knowledge acquire, to maximise their profit.
