Human rights lawyer and counsel to the Waste-Operators of domestic and commercial wastes, who are also known as Private Sector Participants (PSP), Ebun Olu Adegboruwa has told a Lagos High Court (TBS) to preserve the livelihood of the PSP members especially in the light of order 38 of the rule of the Court.

Adegboruwa stated this following the submission of Counsel to the Lagos State Government, Olubukola Adesina, before the court that the PSP continuous operation in the State is not acceptable.

“The fact that the waste managers are cleaning the state does not mean they have been employed as they are doing so at their own will. You can’t foist a willing party on a principal,”Adesina said, adding that the operators have not been doing their job very well and diligently.

However, Adegboruwa objected to the submission and urged the court to hold that the 1st to 3rd defendants cannot approbate and reprobate at the same time by denying the existence of a contract and at the same time claiming that the operators were not diligent in the contract.

Earlier, Adegboruwa, had informed the court that the state had rebuffed the court’s intervention for a resolution between both parties.
