ICBC visits The Guardian, plans book launch to elevate consultancy standards

The Institute of Certified Business Consultants (ICBC), Nigeria, has concluded plans to unveil a book, ‘The Certified Consultant,’ a definitive resource crafted to inspire, inform, and elevate standards of consultancy across industries.

President and Country Representative of ICBC, Emmanuel Ayele, who spoke, yesterday, when he led a delegation from the Institute to Rutam House of Guardian Newspapers Limited, stated that the maiden compendium is enriched with proven frameworks for strategic consulting success, real-world case studies, client engagement insights, as well as emerging trends and tools shaping the future of consultancy.

According to him, The Certified Consultant is more than just a book. “It is a movement toward excellence, accountability, and impact in the consulting profession.”

Ayele said that part of the reason for the visit was to announce its upcoming induction ceremony scheduled for November 22, 2025, in Lagos, as part of measures to advance its mission of developing proficient business consultants, where he said the compendium would be unveiled.

He said the theme of the event focused on ‘Celebrating Achievements, Shaping the Future: Building a Personal Brand as a Certified Consultant’, with the Founder of Trinity House, Ituah Ighodalo, expected as the guest speaker.

Ayele added that the Institute, saddled with the responsibility to carry out training in the field, noted that with the advent of emerging technologies, it is tapping into the benefits of Artificial Intelligence (AI) to bridge the knowledge gap.

In his remarks, the Institute’s Head, Faculty of Training, Jude Okwuoseh, said the Institute had come to fill the gap with hands-on practical training.

He said that as consultants, they are focused and trained to be experts in the field. He said that for a nation’s economy, there is a need for entrepreneurial knowledge, adding that many venture into businesses without proper knowledge or passion to drive them.
