Aimed at telling diverse and underrepresented stories with authenticity and fresh perspective, Toronto-based Nigerian filmmaker Seyi Oluwatimilehin also known as Seyi Mint has launched Mintslate Media.

According to Seyi, who has over eight years experience working in Nollywood and on major streaming platforms such as Netflix and Prime Video and cinemas, Mintslate Media is launching with an initiative titled Project 25 Hundred, which is designed to give individuals with unique and untold stories their first shot in the film industry.

He said: “The goal is to nurture new talent, amplify authentic voices, and create powerful, relevant narratives that speak to a global audience. For just $2,500, participants will have the opportunity to bring their stories to life with professional support and resources.”

Speaking on the resolve to bring his experience into a personal production platform, Seyi said: “I have always believed that stories have the power to bridge gaps, foster understanding, and connect people across cultures. For too long, certain narratives have been overlooked or misrepresented. I want to change that by creating a platform where diverse voices are heard, and authentic stories take center stage. This is more than just filmmaking – it’s about shaping an industry that thrives on inclusivity and creativity.”

Headquartered in Toronto, Canada, Mintslate Media is driven by a commitment to authenticity, collaboration, and representation. The company will focus on producing original, thought-provoking films that deeply reflect the communities they portray.
