Mercedes pushes all-new GLA to Nigerian market

Authorise dealer of Mercedes-Benz Motors in Nigeria, Weststar Associates Limited has revealed the 2016 Mercedes-Benz GLA in Nigeria.

The new GLA, which falls under Mercedes-Benz’s new generation compact cars (NGCC), is expected to take on competitors in the premium sports utility vehicle segment in the country.

Speaking about the new SUV in Lagos, Managing Director of the organisation, Mirko Plath said: “The GLA is serene in day-to-day motoring and has good off road capability – interpreting the SUV segment in convincing style; and of course compact size cannot shrink the shine of the ‘three-Pointed Star’ as the bold GLA fuses authentic SUV versatility with the pure passion that defines every Mercedes-Benz”.

The organisation said the vehicle’s “nimble size delivers an ideal mix of flexibility, fuel-efficiency and fun.”

With available GLA 180, featuring a four cyclinder engine with a 1.6 litre engine, which delivers 80kW and 260Nm of torque and 7G-DCT, the company boasted that the vehicle is progressive, sporty and agile handling, differentiating it from other vehicles in its segment.

The GLA comes with a cutting edge drive systems and dynamic design, based on the A-class hatchback, lovers can now enjoy more comfort both with the standard suspension, and the slightly firmer setup that’s fitted to AMG Line versions.

Offering an interior with sporty character, which was finished with high quality materials, the car debuted with intuitive central controller to bring entertainment and information within users’ reach.

The GLA 45 AMG still holds the pole position in relations to driving dynamics: it accelates from 0 to 100km/h in 4.8 seconds and reaches a top speed of 250km/h.
