Ondo partners firm, empowers 15,000 farmers

The Ondo State government has partnered with a private organisation to boost food production and promote value addition as the COVID-19 continues to stimulate lockdowns and economic paralysis.

The Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu-led administration is also making efforts to empower over 15,000 farmers, who will provide food after the coronavirus pandemic is over.

The state government is in partnership with the management of Klick Konnect Networks Intl. and investors at the Ondo-Linyi Industrial Hub, Ore, to empower the farmers in the state.

Head of Business Development, Klick Konnect Networks International, Mr Dusin Oluwasuji, disclosed this while speaking with journalists in Akure, saying the empowerment would spread across the 18 local government areas.

Oluwasuji added that the government agencies on cooperatives had concluded arrangements to empower 300 women in trade in 203 wards and empower 15000 farmers through cassava farming.

“These initiatives will put women in their many hundreds to work in our rural areas and make food more affordable for the people of Ondo State in the remote rural areas, which would aid the state’s economic recovery after the Covid-19 pandemic,” he said.
