Chairman, Governing Council of the Adeniran Ogusanya College of Education (AOCOED), Otto/Ijanikin, Lagos, Prof. Tunde Samuel, has won the 2016 African Education Personality Leadership Award.

He was presented with the award at a ceremony by the African Institute for Leadership Excellence, organisers of the Annual African Prize for Leadership Excellence Awards, at the Ladi Kwali Conference Centre, Sheraton Hotel, Abuja, recently.

Samuel, the pioneer Provost of Michael Otedola College of Primary Education (MOCPED), Noforija, Epe, Lagos State, between 1994 and 2002, was also Special Adviser on Education to Senator Bola Ahmed Tinubu, when he was governor of Lagos State

He was also a member of the 2014 National Conference, a member of the Lagos State Governor’s Advisory Council, and a retired professor of Political Economics of Education, at the Lagos State University (LASU), Ojo.

Samuel, according to the award organizers, was honoured for his, “Leadership skills and experience, contribution to quality education, his intellectual disposition/strength, present and past educational experience, academic pedigree and service to humanity”.
