Kuku, Atueyi, 65 others set for recognition at NHEA 2015

Renowned medical practitioner, Dr. Sunny Kuku, and consultant pharmacist and publisher of Pharmanews, Sir Ifeanyi Atueyi, and 65 other Nigerian healthcare professionals and organisations will be recognised for their remarkable contribution to the industry at a grand ceremony in Lagos on Friday June 26, 2015.

Renowned medical practitioner, Dr. Sunny Kuku, and consultant pharmacist and publisher of Pharmanews, Sir Ifeanyi Atueyi, and 65 other Nigerian healthcare professionals and organisations will be recognised for their remarkable contribution to the industry at a grand ceremony in Lagos on Friday June 26, 2015.

This event will be graced by various stakeholders in the healthcare industry including diplomats, business tycoons, the media, federal and state governments. It will no doubt be full of glitz and glamour.

The Project Director, Dr. Wale Alabi, in a statement, said: “This is the highest honours for an outstanding excellence in the Nigerian healthcare sector. Their courage, compassion, and contribution have made a difference. “Various stakeholders will be recognized in 29 different categories as against 15.

At the NHEA 2015, Dr. Kuku and Pharm Atueyi will be receiving the Lifetime Achievement Awards. “Other categories are; Healthcare Heroes Award, Outstanding CSR Health Project of the Year; Outstanding State Healthcare Programme of the Year;Private Healthcare Provider of the year;Public Healthcare Provider of the Year Healthcare Media Excellence Award (print & electronic); Radiology Service Provider of the Year; Health Maintenance Organisation of the Year; Rural Healthcare Provider of the Year; Dental Service Provider of the Year; Eye Care Service Provider of the Year; Healthcare Technology Provider of the Year; Pharmaceutical Operation Excellence; Pharmaceutical Retail Outlet of the Year, etc.”

According to Alabi, “Our aim is to ensure that we do not overlook certain group of stakeholders whose specialized services and support in the Nigerian healthcare service delivery are critical and valuable.”

NHEA is organised by Global Health Project and Resources (GHPR) in colaboration with Anadach Group, United States. GHPR is also the organizer of the Medipharma-africa and West African Health Expo, which has proved over the years to be an international hub for healthcare and health education exhibition.

As part of its effort to increase the visibility and successes of the health sector in Nigeria, it decided to organize this award as a platform to celebrate and recognize the best individuals and organizations that have contributed in a remarkable manner to the improvement of the healthcare industry in Nigeria.
