Sen Eteng distributes educational materials to over 40 schools in C’ River State
In continuation of his empowerment programme, Sen. Eteng Jonah Williams has distributed educational materials to over 40 schools in central senatorial districts of Cross River state.
Eteng, representing the district in the National Assembly (NASS), said it was part of his educational support program initiative and also as a measure to ledn support to Gov. Bassey Otu desire to upscale standard of education in Cross River.
Represented by Hon. Ayiba Ojong Ayiba, former chairman of Ikom local government area, the senator said the materials will be distributed to various secondary and primary schools in Abi, Yakurr, and Obubra, Ikom, Etung and Boki council areas.
Williams underscored the paramount importance of education and said he remained committed to advancing education needs of members of his constituents at all levels.
According to the Senator, “one can never do too much for support the educational growth of his constituents and again, we can’t do it all at once.
“We have kick-started the process with this distribution and we will continue with the support from now on. Over 40 schools are involved in this phase.
“I know how this support will help the indigent students and also support the governor’s quest to reposition the sector in the state.
“I want to, however, appeal to the students to our these materials to good use.
Some of the beneficiary schools includes: Bahamono Secondary Grammer School, Ebom, Abi; PCN Ekureku, Abi; Community Primary School, Itigidi, Abi and Primary School, Agoi Ibami, Yakurr.
Others are Secondary School Mkpani, Yakurr; Community Secondary School Ugep, Yakurr; Community Secondary School Apiapum, Obubra; St. Patrick Primary School, Iyamoyong, Obubra; and Community Primary School Ofumbongha No 1, Obubra among others.
