‘The Youths Are Critical In Revival Of Any Nation’

THE Senior Pastor of the Light Sanctuary, Ayo Fadumiye has emphasised the role of the youths in nation building, saying they are very critical in the revival of any nation or society.

While addressing the media in Lagos recently on the second version of their transformation programme tagged: “Evolve 2.0: Power to Transform Yourself,” which comes up June 14, Fadumiye said the current state of the world, where so many crises persist with little or no efforts at solving them and improving on policies that can benefit mankind, underscores the need for proper transformation.

He said that rather than becoming political thugs, the youths, through Evolve Programme, would be creatively helped to become agents of change in their various industries, which will possibly lead to a national rebirth. The programme, he said, would focus on three values: Educare, which has to do with caring and providing support to the educational sector such as public schools, Innovation, which involves using latest technology, tools and platforms to drive ideas and value creation (community value based projects).

During the period, the promoters hope to impact the education sector, as well as execute some community projects, since in their view, being relevant in the society means creating positive impact where one lives.

According to him, transformation involves moving from a lower level to a higher one. It’s a physical change that is rooted in mental change.

Fadumiye believes that the youths are critical in proffering solutions to the numerous problems besetting humanity and justifies why the programme targets the young people, whom he believes are upwardly mobile with so much energy and potential to change things.

Drawing insights from the scriptures and world history, he said people who have succeeded in changing nations achieved greatness in their youths. These include the Lord Jesus, Nelson Mandela and Martin Luther King among others, who though young in their times, made great impact nonetheless.
