Angelina Jolie Announces Plans to Leave Hollywood After Divorce
In a bombshell interview with WSJ Magazine, Academy Award-winning actress Angelina Jolie revealed her plans to step away from Hollywood once her divorce from Brad Pitt is finalized.
Jolie, 48, cited the emotional toll of the ongoing legal battle and a desire to spend more time with her children as the primary reasons for her decision.
“It’s part of what happened after my divorce,” Jolie explained. “I lost the ability to live and travel as freely. I will move when I can.”
The couple’s divorce proceedings, which began in 2016, have been contentious and complex, involving custody disputes and extensive financial negotiations.
Jolie’s announcement comes as several of her children have already left the Hollywood nest. Her eldest son, Maddox, is studying at Yonsei University in Seoul, South Korea, and her daughter Zahara attends Spelman College in Atlanta, Georgia.
While Jolie’s departure will leave a significant void in the film industry, she plans to continue her humanitarian efforts and dedicate more time to her flourishing family life.
“I’m not done with filmmaking,” Jolie clarified. “I’ll always love being behind the camera. But right now, I need to prioritize my family and well-being.”
Jolie’s career has spanned over three decades, earning her numerous accolades, including an Academy Award, two Screen Actors Guild Awards, and a Golden Globe Award. She has become an icon not only for her acting prowess but also for her philanthropic work and commitment to social justice issues.
