Bambi to become a killer deer in new horror film

The 1942 Disney film of the same name, ‘Bambi’ and his woodland companions Thumper and Flower have preserved a charming, wholesome persona for the past 80 years.

According to media sources, the once lovable animal will now reveal his sinister side in the upcoming horror film ‘Bambi: The Reckoning’.

The macabre adaptation of Felix Salten’s 1923 book Bambi, a Life in the Woods will start filming in January with director Scott Jeffrey at the helm. The legendary impending slasher film Winnie-The-Pooh: Blood and Honey was directed by Rhys Frake-Waterfield, who will continue his trend of destroying our childhoods by producing the film.

“The film will be an incredibly dark retelling of the 1928 story we all know and love,” Jeffrey told the outlet. “Finding inspiration from the design used in Netflix’s The Ritual, Bambi will be a vicious killing machine that lurks in the wilderness. Prepare for Bambi on rabies!”

We all know how Bambi (and viewers) were severely traumatised after his mother was killed by a hunter in the animated Disney film, even though no additional plot points were provided. That alone is enough to inspire some people—Batman, you come to mind—to seek retribution. And to be really honest, the more we think about it, the more we find ourselves siding with him. Take them, Bambi!

Since the Ritual was known for its enormous, spindly-looking creatures, it is likely that this new, irate Bambi won’t be your typical, cute deer frolicking through the forest. instead, it may be something more sinister. We tremble to imagine what Thumper will look like if Bambi is going to be so terrifying.

You might wonder how this is even feasible. The reason for this is that Bambi and Winnie-the-Pooh both became part of the public domain this year, opening up new opportunities for both pleasant and lethal uses of the characters.

There are other new Bambi films that people might soon like in addition to Bambi: The Reckoning. Disney is producing a photorealistic remake of their classic movie, following in the footsteps of The Lion King in 2019 and The Jungle Book in 2016. However, if Bambi’s mother’s death had to be shown in a realistic manner, that might also qualify as a horror film.
