Britney Spears has revealed in her new memoir, “The Woman in Me,” why she shaved her head in 2007.

In an excerpt published by People magazine, Spears writes that she was “eyeballed so much growing up” and that she had “people telling me what they thought of my body, since I was a teenager.” She says that shaving her head and acting out were her ways of “pushing back.”
Spears’ head-shaving incident was one of the most talked-about moments in her career. At the time, many people speculated that the incident was a sign of a mental breakdown. However, Spears has now revealed that it was actually a way of taking back control of her own body and image.
All of this Spears revealed in her memoir where she opens up about her life and career, including her rise to fame, her personal struggles, her relationships and her conservatorship.
