American musician and multiple Grammy Award winner, Bruno Mars, has written his name in the history books by becoming the artiste with the highest number of monthly listeners on Spotify.

The holiday season, along with his evergreen charm, has played a huge part in this achievement.

Mars, known for his silky voice and electrifying performances, saw his Christmas tracks like “White Christmas,” “24K Christmas,” and “That’s Why I Like Christmas” gain huge streams, propelling his monthly Spotify listeners to 140 million.

In a similar festive twist, Ariana Grande, who is also a household name in the global music industry, has clinched the title for the most monthly listeners for a female artiste in Spotify’s history.

Grande dethroned Taylor Swift, as her holiday streams soared to 117.319 million monthly listeners.

While these stars shine brightly, Spotify has also crowned Nigeria’s Burna Boy as the most-streamed African artiste for the year 2024.

The achievement adds to Burna Boy’s growing list of accolades, cementing his place as a global Afrobeat icon.

The platform also recognised other African stars like South Africa’s Tyla, Nigeria’s Ayra Starr, Rema, and Tems as some of the continent’s most-streamed artists globally this year.

Mars, also known as Peter Gene Hernandez, has been a dominant force in the music industry for over a decade, with hits spanning genres and generations.
