Burna Boy becomes first African with two 1b stream albums on Spotify

Grammy Award-winning artiste, Damini Ogulu, better known as Burna Boy, has become the first African musician to have two albums surpass 1 billion streams on Spotify.
Love, Damini and African Giant are the albums that have reached this milestone.milestone.
The feat comes as no surprise to fans of the Afro-fusion star, who has consistently dominated global music charts. African Giant, released in 2019, was a game-changer for Burna Boy, earning him international acclaim.
The album not only gained widespread popularity but also led to several major award nominations and wins, including a Grammy Award for Best Global Music Album in 2021. Its success marked the beginning of his rise to global superstardom.
Building on the success, Burna Boy dropped Love, Damini in 2022, which showcased his growth as an artiste. Featuring hits like “Last Last,” the album cemented his place as one of Africa’s biggest music exports.

On Thursday, December 17, Burna Boy wrapped up 2024 in style by releasing his latest single, Bundle By Bundle.
