The actor’s publicist, Cait Bailey, confirmed that Cloud died on Monday at his family residence in Oakland. The cause of death has not been disclosed.
In a heartfelt statement, Cloud’s family bid farewell to a cherished artist, friend, brother, and son. They shared that Angus recently endured the loss of his father, a deeply emotional struggle for him.
The family takes some solace in knowing that he is now reunited with his late father, whom he considered his best friend.
In a family statement, they said; “Last week he buried his father and intensely struggled with this loss,” the family said. “The only comfort we have is knowing Angus is now reunited with his dad, who was his best friend. Angus was open about his battle with mental health and we hope that his passing can be a reminder to others that they are not alone and should not fight this on their own in silence.”
“We hope the world remembers him for his humor, laughter and love for everyone,” his family added.
Angus had been candid about his mental health battles, and they hope his passing serves as a reminder to others that they are not alone and should seek support instead of facing such challenges in silence.
Cloud’s rise to fame was extraordinary. He was discovered by casting scout Eléonore Hendricks while casually walking down the streets of New York. Initially hesitant,
Cloud eventually took the role of Fez alongside Zendaya in the first two seasons of “Euphoria” after meetings with casting director Jennifer Venditti and series creator Sam Levinson.
Despite rumors of him being similar to his on-screen character, Cloud refuted the notion, emphasizing the effort he put into bringing depth to Fez.
He became the breakout star of the series, leading to a supporting role in his debut film “The Line” and being cast in “Scream 6.” Additionally, he made appearances in music videos for artists like Juice WRLD, Becky G, and Karol G.
Sam Levinson, the creator of “Euphoria,” expressed his profound grief in a statement, describing Angus as one of a kind with immense talent.
He acknowledged Cloud’s struggles with addiction and depression, hoping that the actor understood the positive impact he had on countless hearts. HBO, in their statement, remembered Angus Cloud as an immensely talented and beloved member of the “Euphoria” family.
As fans mourn the untimely loss of this gifted actor, production for the third season of “Euphoria” remains on hold. The entertainment industry pays tribute to Angus Cloud’s brilliance, humor, and love for all, as they continue to reflect on his contributions to the world of television and film.
May he rest in peace, and our thoughts go out to his family and friends during this difficult time.
