Sunday, December 1, all roads led to Loral Private Schools Festac Town Lagos, as Prestige Elite Club held its 5th Induction Ceremony and End of Year Party for its old and new members.
The event kicked off with a Thanksgiving service at Holy Family Catholic Church Festac Town with the President of the Club, Prestige Ehidiamen Anthony Ukhun, Vice President Prestige Maureen Anyanwu alongside other executives, members, and stakeholders going to the altar to appreciate God.
In his welcome cum opening remarks, Ukhun disclosed that the year 2024 has indeed been one of mixed blessings and opportunities for the organisation as they recorded giant strides in delivering lofty projects across their host community.
He highlighted the long list of projects undertaken within 2024, which included Education Support Programs (ESPs) within schools to raise awareness on topical issues as well as health education and sharpening young minds within the school learning environment.
Ukhun further disclosed that the Club earlier in the year, precisely March 31, visited the Nigeria Correctional Service Maximum Custodial Center KiriKiri, where the members spent the entire, providing food to over 2300 inmates and necessary sanitary supplies like toothpaste and brushes, bathing and washing soaps, and slippers.
He stated that the high point of the day was the educative and insightful discussion sessions with inmates. He added that notwithstanding the harsh economic situation in the country, the club since 2023, has distributed raw food materials to people within their community on a bi-monthly basis.
In the area of empowerment, Ukhun stated that the Club has been doing a lot to help people gain new skills for economic survival. “As a club, one of our main causes is our empowerment programmes. We have identified and plan to empower widows, post-secondary school students, and community members in four areas, which are Information Technology, Tailoring and Fashion Design, Catering and Events Management, and finally, Soap making,” he said.
According to him, the IT training (cyber security, digital marketing, data science and analytics) commenced in October this year. He noted that as 2025 beckons, the other empowerment programs – soap making, catering and event management, tailoring, and fashion design – will commence in full swing. He therefore called support of all.
Speaking further, the Prestige Elite Club president, enjoined all new inductees – members and patrons – to bring to the table their unique skills and passion in making the club a model to other clubs. He also encouraged them to participate in projects mapped out for the year 2025.
Three new members, Mr. Jude Duru, Mrs. Aguguo Immaculate Ijeoma, and Mrs. Izuka Afomachukwu, were inducted into the club after their oath of allegiance. Aguguo disclosed that being a member of the club is a dream come true for her, and one of the reasons for joining the club is as a result of her passion for giving back to society, and this she hopes to achieve with a body-like Prestige Elite Club.
On her part, Izuka said she has been helping people around her selflessly, and her passion to do more led her to Prestige Elite Club, adding that it will help her to impact more lives as the years go by.
In her vote of thanks, the Vice President who doubles as the chairperson, End of Year Planning Committee, Prestige Maureen Anyanwu also took out time to thank all who honour the club’s invitation. She disclosed that the year 2024 has been fantastic for the club and thanked all who made the year a success story.
