Malaysia-based Nigerian actor, Igbokwe Chika Johnson popularly known as Mr Smile, has declared that it takes nothing special to be a model, asserting that everyone is a model depending on the type of model they want to become.

He states, “Everyone is a model, I always say that because there are so many different types/kinds of models. It all depends on the one you choose. As human beings we are all beautiful and amazing in our different ways. My advice will be to stay true to yourself and always be you. When you appreciate yourself as a human being, others will as well.”

He however maintained that while anyone can be a model, there are ways to go about it, giving out some tips on what to do.

“There are many types of models, including runway models, print models, plus-size models and hand models. There are also models who do not conform to conventional modeling standards. Given this range of options, it is important you begin your modeling career by deciding the type of modeling that best suits you.,” he advised.

“You can begin practicing for a modeling career immediately. Look for videos of professional models and study the way they move and pose. Imitate and learn from these videos. You can craft your runway walk in front of a full-length mirror if you have one,” he added.

Speaking further, Igbokwe advised that one should build their own photograph portfolio; look for an agent, look for opportunities to be noticed, and use most of the social media as he has done.

Igbokwe Chika Johnson started his entertainment journey as a model before becoming an actor and adding fitness instructor to his portfolio. He is also a modeling agent.

He has done lots of advertisements and movies, both locally and internationally. He is particularly popular for his television commercials which has seen him featured for top brands like Caltex, Shell, Petronas, Reebok, Mentos, The Flutter, Harpic,Wonda Coffee among many others.

Igbokwe Chika Johnson hails from Aguata local government area of Anambra State but he was born in Benin city Nigeria and grew up in Asaba, Delta State.
