Talented producer and actress Papaya Ex has taken the world by storm, producing and streaming her debut film titled ‘The Night Market’ on YouTube.
With the release, Papaya Ex ventures into Nollywood, following a successful career as an influencer and content creator in Nigeria’s social media space.
In an interview, Papaya Ex shared her journey into acting, saying, “Honestly, acting has been something I’ve wanted for a long time. I just kept it to myself because I didn’t want to rush it.”
The actress revealed that she knew she had what it took because she felt at home the moment she stepped on a real set.
Papaya Ex’s transition to acting has stretched her creativity, allowing her to understand characters, feel their emotions, and carry their stories. “It made me calm down and really connect with what I’m doing, not just perform for the camera,” she explained.

When asked about critics saying influencers get acting roles without proper training, Papaya Ex responded, “People will always talk. But one thing about me is that I’m putting in the work. I’m learning, training, and taking this career seriously.”
Papaya Ex revealed that the greatest price she’s paid is sacrifice, stressing that acting takes time, energy, emotions, and sometimes even peace. “You give up comfort, you give up sleep, you push yourself in ways you didn’t expect,” she said.
Her social media platform gives her massive visibility, influencing her script choices and acting career. “I choose stories that make sense, that align with who I’m becoming, and that I’ll be proud of when people watch,” she stated.
Papaya Ex’s online community has helped amplify her projects by sharing, talking about, and hyping them. “My online community has helped me a lot. When I post a project, the support is always loud,” she said.
The top influencer added that she won’t stop giving her online supporters hilarious and yet educational content on her social media page.
