American filmmaker Tyler Perry has released the second season of his hit series, Beauty in Black, on Netflix.
The new season dropped today, Thursday, September 11, 2025, after weeks of anticipation from fans across the world.
Perry had shared the trailer on his Instagram page in August, sparking excitement online. The short clip teased drama, suspense and unexpected twists, which many viewers described as his signature style.
Nigerian actress, Anita Joseph, was among the fans who reacted to the trailer, writing, “I cover Kimmie with the blood of Jesus o. Ahh you came to lead kwaaa.” Her comment reflected the feelings of many viewers who remain emotionally attached to the lead character, Kimmie.
Another user, @zen_empress, wrote, “Kimmie gots to be the slowest main character ever, but I am invested.”
By the eve of the release, reactions had also flooded X (formerly Twitter).
One user, @ibexdream, joked, “Forget the plot, I’m here for the wig war,” while another, @whoknocap, said, “Ngl im boutta make my subscription right now.”
Perry, who is known for blockbusters such as Acrimony and the Madea film series, started his career in the early 1990s as a playwright.
