This refreshing ginger lemonade is the perfect balance of zesty citrus and a warm, spicy kick. It is the ideal companion for your Turkey and Yam Pepper Soup.
Ingredients
- 150g fresh Ginger (peeled and roughly chopped)
- Fresh Lemons 4–5 large (juiced; you should have about 1 cup of juice)
- 3/4 cup of sugar or honey: (adjust to your preference)
- 5 watercups (divided: 1 cup for syrup, 4 cups for dilution)
- Ice Cubes for serving.
- Get fresh mint leaves or thin lemon slices.
Instructions
- Place the chopped ginger and 1 cup of water into a blender. Blend until smooth.
- Pour the blended ginger mixture into a small pot. Add the sugar (or honey) and bring to a gentle boil over medium heat. Let it simmer for about 5–8 minutes so the liquid becomes fragrant and syrupy.
- Remove from heat and strain the mixture through a fine-mesh sieve into a pitcher, pressing down on the ginger pulp to extract all the flavorful juice. Discard the pulp.
- Add the fresh lemon juice to the pitcher with the ginger syrup. Stir in the remaining 4 cups of cold water.
- Taste and adjust sweetness or acidity if needed. Serve chilled over plenty of ice, and garnish with lemon slices or mint leaves for a professional, vibrant finish.
