When we eat the mouth moves and the body’s hunger begins to calm down. But why don’t you kill two birds with one stone by investing that eating time in noshing foods that nourish the body as well as make you happy?

It is a cheap way to secure your mental health and get pumped with feel good hormones known as dopamine.

Kylene Bogden, a nutrition expert and Co-Founder of FWDfuel, says there are some foods that will keep you happy. “Dopamine is a neurotransmitter known as the ‘happy chemical’ or ‘pleasure chemical.’’

Just in the same way you feel good doing something you take pleasure in, it is the dopamine that insights this feeling of good pleasure, thus making you aspire to do it again.

Dopamine has a large role it plays in the proper functioning of human beings, as it also contributes to memory and sleep.

These foods increase the aid of the feel-good hormone the nerve cells transmit messages to each other that make different parts of the brain sync.

Coffee

Keep it balanced and moderate when making coffee. As a feel good food is taken in moderation, coffee boosts dopamine levels. This same feeling can be gotten when drinking green tea.

Chocolates

Chocolates have what is known as phenylethylamine that transmits to the brain cells to let out a rush of dopamine.

Foods Rich In Vitamin B

Bogden explains that if the body is low in vitamin B6, it is difficult for it to make dopamine. But vitamin B can be acquired from other sources like poultry, nuts, fish, and beans. The trick to getting Vitamin B6 is reaching for cereals, vegetables, meaty organs and fish.

Dairy

Dairy products have yoghurt, ice creams and milk have the good amino acid L-tyrosine.

Nuts

Nuts like almonds, pumpkin seeds, groundnuts and sesame seeds are rich in protein and amino acids. They work well to increase the dopamine level when the tyrosine breaks down.
