Funke Akindele sells out second UK screen ahead of premiere

Award-winning actress Funke Akindele has sold out the second screen for her movie, Everybody Loves Jenifa, ahead of its UK premiere on December 20, 2024.

Sharing the news on her Instagram page today, December 15, 2024, Akindele expressed gratitude to her fans, saying, “Jenifans!!!!!!!:dancer::dancer::dancer::dancer: You’ve outdone yourselves again :heart_hands::skin-tone-4: History made as the second screen for Everybody Loves Jenifa December 20th UK premiere is SOLD OUT. :heart:”

The movie marks the first time a Nigerian film has achieved such a record for a UK premiere.

Akindele encouraged fans to stay updated on additional screens and territories by following the international distributor, Nile Media Entertainment, on Instagram.

Nile Media, which handles international distribution for the film, confirmed the sell-out in a post that read: “History made. Everybody Loves Jenifa becomes the first Nigerian film to sell out 2 screens before premiere.

“Jenifans, you’ve shattered records back-to-back ahead of December 20th UK premiere. Thank you all for your unwavering support and love.

“MORE SCREENS TO BE ADDED, stay connected with us or join our international community (link in bio) for real-time updates.”

Nile Media has also secured the movie’s distribution rights across six continents, further cementing its global appeal.

In a video circulating on social media, Akindele predicted the film would generate N5 billion in revenue. “We are making N5 billion this year,” the 47-year-old actress said.
