Supermodel Gigi Hadid was released on bail after being arrested for marijuana possession in the Cayman Islands. Hadid, 27, was arrested on July 10 after authorities found a small amount of marijuana in her luggage at the Grand Cayman airport.

Hadid’s rep told E! News that she was traveling with marijuana purchased legally in New York City with a medical license. Marijuana has been legal for medical use in Grand Cayman since 2017.

Hadid was booked into the Prisoner Detention Center but was released on bail a few hours later. She was scheduled to appear in court on July 12, but the case was dismissed after she accepted responsibility for the offense.

Hadid was fined $1,000 and ordered to pay court costs. She was also given a warning not to bring marijuana into the Cayman Islands again.

In a statement, Hadid said that she was “deeply sorry” for her actions and that she “learned a valuable lesson.” She added that she was “grateful for the opportunity to put this behind me and move on.”

Hadid’s arrest is a reminder that even celebrities are not immune to the law. However, it is also a reminder that marijuana laws can vary from country to country. It is important to be aware of the local laws before traveling.
