Former US President, Barack Obama,  has congratulated rapper Playboi Carti on the success of his latest album, I Am Music, revealing that he and his wife, Michelle, are devoted fans.

In a personal message to Carti, Obama praised the album and shared that Michelle starts her mornings dancing to TRIM, one of the standout tracks.

“Playboi! Loving the album, congratulations,” Obama wrote in a message that Carti later posted on his Instagram story. “Michelle dances to TRIM every morning, we’re big fans.”

The former president has long been known for his eclectic taste in music, frequently sharing his annual playlists featuring a mix of hip-hop, R&B, and alternative artists. His endorsement of I Am Music adds another cultural stamp of approval to Carti’s work.

Meanwhile, controversy continues to swirl around the album’s guest features. Kanye West, who now prefers to be called Ye, took issue with Kendrick Lamar’s inclusion on the project. He claims the Compton rapper had no place on I Am Music.

Carti, never one to shy away from confrontation, hit back with a blunt response on his Instagram story, writing: “Ye STFU.”

The exchange is the latest in a series of public clashes involving West, who has recently reignited feuds with several artists. Despite the drama, I Am Music has dominated streaming charts, cementing Carti’s position as one of rap’s most influential figures.
