Grammy-nominated singer David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, paid a courtesy visit to the President of Sierra Leone, Julius Maada Bio, in Freetown.
The visit forms part of Davido’s 5ive Alive World Tour and comes amid his growing presence at major cultural and sporting events across Africa and beyond.
During the meeting, the singer described Sierra Leone as his “second home” and assured fans in the country that a full stadium concert would be organised in the future.
He also reflected on his previous visit to the country in 2017, recalling that the performance attracted a massive crowd and remains one of his most memorable shows in West Africa.
President Bio received the singer warmly and acknowledged the excitement surrounding his visit, noting the anticipation ahead of the beach concert tied to the AFCON festivities.

Photographs from the meeting have since circulated widely on social media, drawing reactions from fans who pointed to Davido’s expanding international profile and his growing role as a cultural ambassador for African music.
Davido later took over Sugarland Beach in Freetown as the headline act at the sold-out Gbamgbaode Festival, turning the venue into a sea of excitement.
He made striking entrance through thick smoke and towering stilt performers dressed in traditional Salone attire before running through crowd favourites like Fall and Sensational.
The night drew an enthusiastic response from fans, with Sierra Leone’s First Lady, Fatima Maada Bio, also spotted among the audience, as many described the show as a standout moment.

The Sierra Leone visit and concert comes just days after Davido’s performance at the opening ceremony of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations on Sunday in Rabat, Morocco.
The ceremony, held at the Prince Moulay Abdellah Stadium, marked the official start of Africa’s biggest football tournament and featured Davido alongside American rap star French Montana.
Both artistes performed the newly released AFCON 2025 official soundtrack, thrilling thousands of fans inside the stadium and millions of viewers watching across the world.
The performance drew loud cheers and was widely praised on social media, as fans described it as a fitting opener for the competition.
This evening, the Super Eagles step out for their first game at the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations, taking on Tanzania at the Fez Stadium in Morocco.
Nigeria head into the match as one of the favourites for the title and will be hoping to start on a positive note after finishing second at the last tournament, with kick off set for 6.30pm WAT.
