Jungkook’s solo single “Seven” featuring Latto won the Song of Summer award, beating out stiff competition from artists such as Beyonce, Billie Eilish, Doja Cat, Dua Lipa, and Nicki Minaj. The song was a critical and commercial success, topping the charts in several countries and breaking multiple records.

BLACKPINK won the Group of the Year award for the second time in their career. The girl group has been one of the most popular and successful K-pop groups in the world since their debut in 2016. They have won numerous awards, including the VMAs for Best K-pop in 2020 and 2021.

In addition to Jungkook and BLACKPINK, other K-pop acts who won awards at the VMAs include Stray Kids (Best K-pop) and TXT (Push Performance of the Year).
