Khosi wins first BBTitans

After 78 days in the Big Brother house, 25-year-old South African journalist, Makhosazane, known as Khosi, yesterday, emerged the winner of the maiden edition of Big Brother Titans (BBTitans) reality TV show.

After 78 days in the Big Brother house, 25-year-old South African journalist, Makhosazane Twala, known as Khosi, yesterday, emerged the winner of the maiden edition of Big Brother Titans (BBTitans) reality TV show.

Tagged Ziyakhala Wahala, the show, which is the brainchild of DSTV, and sponsored by Flutterwave and Bamboo, had Nigeria’s Kanaga Jr and South Africa’s Khosi as the last two contestants.

At BBTitans, contestants from Nigeria and South Africa battled for the grand prize of $100,000.

Nigeria’s Yvonne, Ebubu and Kanaga Jnr and South Africa’s Tsatsii, Khosi and Ipeleng made it to the finals for the grand prize.

BBTitans premiered on Sunday, January 15, 2023, with 20 housemates introduced into the house, situated in South Africa.

Hosted by Nigeria’s Ebuka Obi-Uchendu and South Africa’s Lawrence Maleke, the premiere also featured a performance from Afrobeat star, D’banj.

Six housemates such as a trio of Nigerian Yvonne, Ebubu, and Kanaga Jnr and the trio of South African housemates, Tsatsii, Khosi, and Ipeleng made it to the final battle for the grand prize.

On day one, Big Brother introduced Khosi (South Africa), Yemi (Nigeria), Thabang (South Africa), Juicy Jay (South Africa), Blaqboi (Nigeria), Nelisa (South Africa), Olivia (Nigeria), Mmeli (South Africa), Nana (Nigeria), Ipeleng (South Africa), Jaypee (Nigeria), Yaya (South Africa), Ebubu (Nigeria), Jenni O (Nigeria),
Lukay (South Africa), Kanaga (Nigeria), Justin (South Africa), Yvonne (Nigeria), Tsatsii (South Africa) and Marvin (Nigeria).

However, Big Brother in later days introduced Blue Aiva (South Africa), Miracle Op (Nigeria), Theo Traw (South Africa) and Sandra (Nigeria). There were 12 ladies and 12 men that participated in the competition.

For the night, 25-year-old Ipeleng Selepe, South African was evicted amongst the six contestants.

28-year-old Nigerian Ebuka Chukwu, popularly called Ebubu was the second person to be evicted.

The third person to be evicted from the show in the finale was 28-year-old Nigerian Yvonne Godswill Awanga,

Engineering student from South Africa, Motsatsi Wendy Madiba, known as Tsatsi was the fourth contestant to be evicted for the night, leaving Nnamdi Kanaga, known as Kanaga jr and South African Khosi in the show.

It was however Khosi dubbed King Khosi night as she walked away with a whopping US$100,000 (R1.8m) cash prize.

She said: “I want to say, thank you to everyone who voted for me. I don’t know you guys voted for me but I guess I’ll find out soon,” she said after winning.
