“Many thought I would not live this long”–Reno Omokri
Bemigho Reno Omokri, a renowned author, lawyer, and social commentator, has shared a heartfelt message on his 51st birthday, reflecting on his journey and his commitment to Nigeria.
In a note on his X page on January 22, 2025, Omokri revealed that his early years were marked by severe health challenges, leading many to doubt he would reach this milestone: “As a child and teenager, I was often beset with ill health. Many thought I wouldn’t live this long. But here I am, by the grace of God,” he wrote.
He expressed gratitude for his life and highlighted his deep sense of purpose tied to his Nigerian heritage. “God could have chosen any country for me, and He chose Nigeria. Therefore, my life must add value to Nigeria,” Omokri emphasised.

As a birthday wish, Omokri urged Nigerians to consider replacing a foreign-made good or service they use with a locally made alternative. He framed this as a way to strengthen the economy, boost the value of the Naira, and support national growth.
“Every decision matter,” Omokri stated, “and choosing Nigeria is a step toward our collective prosperity.”
He closed with a note of gratitude for birthday prayers and a heartfelt appeal: “May God bless you, and may God bless Nigeria.”
